Sort before you store
Pull everything out first and separate into working, unsure, and clearly dead — you\’ll almost always find at least a few cables or adapters you no longer need.
One category, one container
Charging cables, earbuds, and small adapters each get their own labelled pouch or small box rather than one shared drawer — this is the single change that prevents re-tangling.
Coil, don\’t wrap
Loosely coiling a cable and securing it with a velcro tie or twist tie causes far less internal wire stress over time than tightly wrapping it around your hand or a charger.
Keep an \”active\” pile separate
Whatever you use daily shouldn\’t be in deep storage with the rest — a small tray or dish near your main charging spot keeps daily items accessible without recreating the mess.
Label if you share the space
In a household with multiple people\’s chargers and cables, a simple label on each pouch saves the recurring \”whose cable is this\” question far better than memory alone.
