Samsung used Gamescom 2026 in Cologne to show off its next wave of Odyssey gaming monitors, and the headline model is something the market hasn’t seen before: a 49-inch super ultrawide running at 360Hz. The Odyssey G95SJ pairs that resolution and refresh rate with a 5th-generation Penta Tandem QD-OLED panel, delivering a 5120 x 1440 “Dual QHD” resolution — the first refresh-rate jump for a screen this size since the 240Hz panels launched a couple of years ago.
There’s also a dual-mode trick built in: switch down to a lower 2560 x 720 resolution and the G95SJ can push all the way to 720Hz for competitive play. Samsung says the new panel’s RGB-stripe sub-pixel layout sharpens text clarity — historically a weak point for ultrawide OLED monitors used for work as well as gaming — while its five-layer structure is rated up to 1.3 times more power-efficient and roughly twice as long-lasting as the previous generation. Other specs include a 0.03ms response time and 1,300 nits of peak brightness.
Samsung didn’t stop at the flagship. The Odyssey G75SJ brings a 42-inch curved 4K WOLED panel at 165Hz with a new glare-reducing coating said to cut glossiness by 54% compared to standard anti-reflective films, aimed at people who game in bright rooms. Meanwhile, the Odyssey G80SJ, a 32-inch 4K QD-OLED model, adds a triple-mode function that lets you choose between native 4K at 360Hz, 1440p at 520Hz, or 1080p at a blistering 680Hz depending on what a game needs, alongside support for both FreeSync Premium Pro and G-Sync Compatible.
There’s a catch for anyone hoping to buy soon: none of these new panels are expected to ship until the first half of 2027, and Samsung hasn’t confirmed pricing for any of them yet. The company says more details, including firm pricing, will likely surface at CES in January, when the monitors are expected to make another appearance. For now, Gamescom offered an early look at where high-end PC gaming displays are headed next.
